The Good Kettle started as a vision and grew into a reality in November 2009 with the purchase of a tired and weary building located on U.S. Route One in Stockton Springs, Maine.

  Interior renovations began in December 2009 and continued until April 2010. Upon completion of construction and a new coat of paint, efforts were made to carry on with   other matters, such as equipment purchases,   establishing relationships with local vendors and creating a Menu that would entice folks   to support and frequent our new venture.

   Tempting “Local Folks”, “Summer People”, “Residents From Away” and “Tourists & Visitors” was a bit of a challenge as each have different palates and ideas on what they like to eat.

We agreed that “Everyone” enjoys simple, good, home-style cooking using high quality ingredients providing nutritious,wholesome and healthy food.

We are fortunate to have Local Growers of Produce in the immediate area. Being mindful that all local businesses are in need of support, we felt it important to utilize this resource for many of the fruits and vegetables we use daily.  

Offering a bit of diversity, we feature Fine Wines and Cheeses from all over the world as well as Beers made right here in the State of Maine.

  We welcome your suggestions and appreciate feedback regarding what you would like to see in our shop.  We are starting with the Basics , something for everyone, and plan to add items as warranted in the future.
